Privacy Policy

I GET U WELL ("IGUW") is a smoking reduction and self-help application designed to help adult users understand their smoking habits, gradually reduce cigarette use, track progress, and manage cravings. IGUW is operated by Greenwebbuzz, based in Ontario, Canada.

This Privacy Policy explains what information IGUW collects, how it is used, where it is processed, and the choices available to users. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@igetuwell.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information stored on your device

IGUW is designed to work primarily as a local-first application. Information related to your use of the app may be stored locally on your device, including:

• Cigarette logs, including dates, times, counts, triggers, craving strength, and optional free-text notes
• Craving-delay sessions and their outcomes
• Smoking baseline information
• Reduction plan information, plan changes, and progress
• App settings and preferences, such as an optional display name, country, time zone, waking hours, language, cigarette cost, and notification preferences

This information can reveal sensitive details about your health and habits. We recommend avoiding entering information about other people, or unnecessary sensitive information, in free-text notes.

Account information

Creating an account is optional. If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address, a unique account identifier, and authentication information necessary to maintain your account and session. Password authentication is handled through our authentication provider, Supabase; we do not store your plaintext password.

2. How We Use Information

Information is used to:

• Provide the app's smoking tracking and reduction features
• Learn your smoking pattern when you choose to complete a baseline period
• Create and maintain your gradual reduction plan
• Calculate progress and smoking-related statistics
• Provide craving-support features
• Save app settings and preferences
• Create and authenticate optional accounts, and perform the one-time cloud upload described in Section 4
• Maintain the security and reliability of the service
• Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests

IGUW is currently free, with no ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use smoking or craving records for advertising. IGUW does not currently use third-party advertising, behavioral analytics, or tracking tools in the mobile app.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

IGUW uses third-party service providers where necessary to operate certain features.

Supabase

Supabase provides account authentication and cloud database services used for optional accounts. Our Supabase project is hosted in Canada (Central region). Information associated with an account is processed and stored through Supabase's infrastructure.

Resend

Resend is used to deliver transactional account emails, such as email verification and password-recovery messages. Your email address is processed by Resend when these messages are sent, and Resend processes this information in the United States.

Operational and security information

Our service providers' infrastructure may process standard technical information, such as IP addresses, request timestamps, and operational or security logs, as part of running the service. This is separate from advertising or behavioral analytics, which we do not use.

These providers process information to provide services to IGUW and are subject to their own security and privacy practices. We may disclose information when legally required or when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, or maintain service security. We do not make your smoking or craving records publicly available.

4. Local Storage and Cloud Storage

IGUW is designed to remain fully useful without an account. Guest users can use the entire core app with information stored only locally on their device — nothing is sent to our servers.

If you create an account, the app asks you to explicitly confirm before anything is uploaded, stating plainly what this includes: your existing locally stored settings, reduction-plan history, cigarette logs (including any free-text notes, triggers, and craving strength you've recorded), and craving sessions. If you decline, your account still works and nothing is uploaded — your data simply stays on that device.

If you confirm, this transfer is one-time and one-directional. IGUW does not currently continuously sync new entries you add after this initial transfer, and does not currently download or restore your cloud data onto a different device. If you sign in to the same account on a device that already has its own local history, the app keeps that device's history local-only rather than merging or overwriting what's already backed up, to avoid any risk of one device's data silently replacing another's. Creating an account does not by itself guarantee that your information is backed up on an ongoing basis or recoverable on another device.

5. Notifications

IGUW may request permission to send notifications related to app functionality, such as smoking-plan reminders or progress-related information.

Notification permission is optional and can be changed through your device settings.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information or smoking-related information.

Information is disclosed to service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the app and its account, email, and hosting functionality (Section 3), or when disclosure is required by law.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by IGUW, including transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for data sent to our cloud provider and restricted access to account information.

Internet communications and cloud services involve inherent security risks, and no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. No app, device, or online service can guarantee absolute security — keep your device protected and your account credentials private.

8. Data Retention

Local app information remains on your device until it is removed through the app's local-data controls (Section 9), application data is cleared, or the application is uninstalled, subject to the behavior of your device and operating system.

Account-associated cloud information is retained while your account exists and is needed to provide the account service, unless you request deletion or retention is otherwise required or permitted by law. Support communications and operational or security logs are retained only for as long as relevant to those purposes.

Deleted information may remain briefly in our providers' routine backups or security records until those records are naturally cycled out in the ordinary course of their operation, rather than being erased everywhere instantly.

9. Account and Data Deletion

Users with an IGUW account can initiate permanent account deletion from within the app.

Go to:

Settings → Account → Delete account

Account deletion permanently deletes your account and the cloud data associated with it, subject to the backup/log retention described in Section 8. Deleting your account does not delete your smoking history stored locally on your device — you can continue using the app as a guest afterward, and the app tells you this at the point of deletion.

To separately erase the history stored on your device, use the local-data control:

Settings → Data management → Delete all my data

Deleting local data alone does not delete your account or any cloud records already associated with it. Copies you previously exported or shared are outside the app's deletion controls.

If you cannot access the app, you can request account or data deletion by emailing support@igetuwell.com. We may need to verify that you own the account before processing an email request — please do not send us your password. Additional information is available at: https://igetuwell.com/delete-account.

10. Your Choices

You can:

• Use the core app without ever creating an account
• Choose whether to create an account, understanding the one-time cloud upload described in Section 4
• Choose whether to allow notifications
• Export your data from within the app
• Delete your account from within the app, and separately erase your on-device history
• Contact us with privacy questions, access/correction requests, or to withdraw consent where applicable

We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide account features, and legal requirements may limit some requests. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain why and any available next steps. You may also raise a privacy concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

11. Children's Privacy

IGUW is intended only for adults (18 years of age or older) seeking to reduce or stop smoking. It is not designed or directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@igetuwell.com so we can address it.

12. Health Information and Medical Disclaimer

Information entered into IGUW concerning smoking habits and cravings may be sensitive personal information. IGUW uses this information to provide its smoking-tracking, reduction-plan, progress, and craving-support functionality.

IGUW is a self-help tool and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Users should consult an appropriate healthcare professional regarding medical questions or concerns.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our services, or applicable requirements change. When we make changes, the updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required for material changes.
